J. G. Barrette Electric Ltd.

I'd give them a zero, if it was possible. J.G. Barrette Electric is corrupt, they lied about having a permit, over charge, always forget to bring parts, make constant mistakes with the scope of work, they were hired to do a job that was supposed to take 1 day, it's now been more than 10 months and they're still not done. They left my 2 chest freezers unplugged and caused other damage. They left wires exposed for 10 + months resulting in me getting an electrical shock. They also lied for more than 10 months about having an Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) permit to do the work and charged me for it (fraud). Turns out they never opened a ticket until after I demanded an in-house ESA inspection last week. Then they never bothered to show up for the ESA inspection leaving the inspector and his supervisor waiting for them in my driveway. Eventually, they went ahead with the inspection without Barrette's as they never showed up. Barrette's then failed the inspection with multiple deficiencies and some violations. Avoid JG Barrette Electric. If you hired J.G. Barrette Electric, please call the ESA to make sure they opened a permit, that the permit reflected the full scope of work, etc. and get an on-site inspection. If you don't, you could have your insurance revoked, and face fines from the ESA or the Provincial Offenses Act. Buyer beware!!
