What verification means here
A licence badge on a profile means the licence number was checked against the provincial body that issued it. Requirements differ across the country — construction work in Québec is governed by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec, and electrical work in Ontario by ESA/ECRA — so a profile without a badge has not been through that check rather than being a claim that the contractor is unlicensed. Confirm any licence with the provincial body before you hire, and treat the badge as a starting point rather than a guarantee.
Where we are with reviews
Reviews come from signed-in homeowners and stay attached to the profile they were written for. Review volume is still low, so most profiles show no rating at all — we would rather show nothing than a placeholder score that makes one contractor look better than another for no reason.
